Online Scuba Forums

ScubaBoard
- This site is the main forum for recreational scuba divers.
A wide range of topics are discussed here. For those in
Michigan, the Great Lakes Wrecking Crew (GLWC) has a section on
here.
Here is a link direct to the GLWC discussion forum. |
| |
TheDecoStop
- This is a great site for the technical diver. Most
discussions here are geared toward the technical and rebreather
diver. |
| |
Scuba
Toys - This site is
a forum run by Scuba Toys. Scuba Toys is an online provider
of dive gear. Note, they do provide discounts to active
members of the forums for gear. |

Scuba Toys also has their own forum for divers to discuss a
variety of topics. |
|
|
Deep Sea

quality back plates and wings for the tech divers. They also
supply great accessories for bp/w's as well. |
|
|
Surf-Fur
- The HeatLab company provides parkas that are
awesome for scuba diving. These parkas are awesome to toss
on during surface intervals on charters or line tending during
those ice diving trips. |
|
|
Scuba Toys

scuba gear at reasonable prices. Note that this site also
had a forum for divers. For active members of the forum, the

Online
Research
| |
Michigan DNR Lake Maps by County - This
is a great resource for determining depth and bottom composition
of many inland lakes within the state of Michigan. Anyone
diving an inland lake should download the lake info from this site
prior to the dive. It will definitely make your dive more
enjoyable! |
| |
Great Lakes Shipwreck Research - This is
a very good resource for shipwreck research. The site is a
little dated as it looks like site updates haven't happened since
2003. But it is still a good spot to look for information. |
| |
BGSU Great Lakes Vessels Online Index -
This site is managed by Bowling Green State University. This
is an excellent site to look up details on a vessel. Many
include pictures and historical information on the vessel. |
| |
Ship
Building History Website - This site
provides great historical information on shipbuilding history
throughout the United States. This is another great site to
start researching a vessels origin. |
Dive Charters
| |
The Great Lakes Diver
- This dive boat is operated out of Bruno's dive shop (See
links under Dive Shops). Talk with Rick Davies when you book
your charter. The group is very accommodating and a very
good group to dive with. |
|
|
Rec & Tec Dive Charters
- This a very well set up dive boat. Lots of open
deck space on the stern for suiting up and a very easy entry and
exit off of the dive boat. Gary Venet (owner) is
very accommodating. This dive charter also does some very
advanced technical dives as well. |

|
All Seasons Diving Company
- I have not yet dove with this charter company yet.
If you have experience with this charter, drop me a line about it.
I would love to hear some reviews! |
