the Straits of Mackinaw for some shipwreck diving. The wrecks we
visited were the William Young, the Cedarville, the Eber Ward, and
the Martin Stalker.

Dunderburg Wreck Dive

Here is a video of a
dive on the shipwreck Dunderburg in Lake Huron. The Dunderberg is
sitting in 150 feet of water just off of Harbor Beach, Michigan.
This is an advanced dive for scuba divers. We did this dive in
June 2011. Unfortunately my video camera had lens fogging issues,
so the footage isn't as clear as I would like. Hopefully you still
enjoy it.

The diving was amazing. The group easily have over 100 feet

Michigan Lake Divers
Association had a club dive on the DiveVersion dive boat out of
Flint. The group met in Lexington, MI and did two dives.
One on the Regina and the second on the Mary Alice B. Since
we had high winds for the previous 2 weeks, the visibility on the
wrecks wasn't the best, but fun was still had by everyone!

Sport Marker Dive

The Michigan
Lake Divers Association raised funding to create a replacement
historical marker for the shipwreck SPORT located in the Sanilac
Shores Preserve. The original historical marker was made by
the State of Michigan, but was made of materials that quickly
deteriorated in the water. After the marker deteriorated,
the state did not replace the marker.

Stoney Lake Ice Dive Oxford, MI

Divers Den and
Descenders Dive Club out of Lake Orion did an ice dive on Stoney
Lake. The weather was absolutely wonderful. Underwater visibility
was great as well. Only problem was it was warm enough on the
surface, that when I got under, I had issues with the lens on the
camera fogging. So, some of the video isn't the best. Hope you
enjoy.
St. Clair River Dive

This was a dive put
together by Third Coast Divers. It was a dive to dig in the
St. Clair River to find old artifacts. Very nice dive.
Easy entry and exit. Lots of stuff to dig around. I
look forward to going back and doing more dives at this dive
location.

This is a video that
was shot and compiled by my dive buddy Ian Shaffer. This is
published with his permission. The video is of a variety of ice
dives from our 2008-2009 dive season. In most of the video, I am
the diver in the white and blue drysuit. Some of the lakes
featured are Otter Lake, Lake Orion, Stony Lake, and Maceday Lake.
This was all done with the Descenders Dive Club from the Divers

Super Bowl Sunday Ice Dive

The Descenders Dive
Club from the Divers Den in Lake Orion does an annual ice dive on
Super Bowl Sunday. The group had a good turnout. The weather was
nice and the diving was excellent. We had all levels of experience
and both drysuit divers as well as wetsuit divers. I think

St. Clair River Dive

This is a video from a
winter dive in the St. Clair river out of Marine City, MI.
The previous week the Coast Guard was out with Ice Breakers
breaking up ice blockage in the river. Because of that work,
there was a significant of ice flow heading downstream.

Thunder Bay Preserve. Although conditions were not perfect,
the group was able to get the dives in. This video is a
compilation of dives on the E. B. Allen, the bow and stern of the
Grecian, and the Oscar T. Flint.

Gilboa quarry in early November. This is one of my first
attempts at underwater video, so the quality and steadiness of the
video is a little lacking. Still, I hope you enjoy it!
Higgins Lake Roscommon, MI
Scott and I drove up
to Higgins Lake to do some shore diving. It is amazing how clear
the water is! This is a fun dive site. However, a few things to
note. One, you must bring all your air with you. There are no dive
shops or compressors located nearby for fills. Two, if shore
diving, there is a LONG walk out from the beach until you get to
deep enough water to swim.
